Fireworks: Particulars

Fireworks is specifically designed for web graphics creation. Hence, its drawing tools are not quite as advanced as Freehand or Flash. Below are a few of the particulars about Fireworks.

Handles

Fireworks has fewer tools capable of manipulating handles (and altering curves). Only the Pen tool is capable of manipulating handles on paths.

New images

Image size is always determined by the user. With each new document opened, the user must input (or agree to) the size of the image. In some programs, there is a default canvas size and work area.

Brush availability

Brushes are much less flexible in Fireworks than in the more drawing-oriented Freehand.
