You can always write your LaTeX documents with any text editor, bring or FTP them to school, and then convert them on the school systems. For remote use, Emacs is a great text editor and it won't add in any gobble-ty-gunk stuff. It's also readily available on Windows and Mac. LaTeX can be difficult to install, but these pages offer tips and advice on installing LaTeX and Emacs. Please email us if you find other useful pages or sites on installing either of these.
Also, please email help if you use any of these pages to install to let us know how you would rate their usability and information.
