The Page Properties window is the primary method by which you can
change document-wide properties for your web page. To open the Page
Properties window:
Modify Menu
Page
This window allows you to alter many of the properties that effect
your entire web page.
- Set Background Color
- The background color is important for your page. Setting it using
the Page Properties window is pretty easy. Just find the
Background box (below) and do one of the following:
- Type the color you would like to use in the text box
- Click on the color swatch to the left of the text box and
choose from the colors offered.
(We chose #CCCC66 for our Background color.)
- Set text and link colors
- After you've set your background color, you should set text and
link colors that strongly contrast your background color. You can set
your text color and link colors in the same way that you set your
background colors: by finding the appropriate sections for those
properties (below) and setting them. But what do these settings do?
- Text color defines the default display color for text
in your document.
(We chose #000000 for our Text color.)
- Link color defines the color of un-visted links on
your user's browser.
(We chose #663399 for our Link color.)
- Visited Link color defines the color of links to pages
your visitor has already seen.
(We chose #660066 for our Visited Link color.)
- Active Link color defines the color of the link over
which the mouse is hovering (only available on Internet Explorer).
(We chose #660066 for our Active Link color.)
On the next page, you will learn how to add an image to your
document.
